Android 5.0 Lollipop has taken over every inch of Android websites, covering News, Guides, and Downloads etc. and today, we also have some good news for our enthusiasts here. Not so long after Google completely published Android 5.0 Lollipop during the last month, it was rumored that a new incremental update was about to follow which would bring fixes and majorly updates for the Android wear technology. However, there was no word on when it would be announced or released to the public.
Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update News
Until today, when Google surprisingly pushed a new android-5.0.1_r1 tag to the AOSP source code, to which the corresponding build number is LRX22C. later releasing factory images for the same too, which are available only for the Nexus 9, Nexus 10 and the Nexus 7 2013 models, as of now. It is expected to land on all the other supported devices soon. nothing specific has yet been pointed by Google, but this new update brings significant battery life improvements to the Android wear devices (As mentioned in the source) and is also believed to fix many issues that were faced by overall Nexus devices in the initial Lollipop release. We can’t confirm anything for now, or if there is any new stuff on the latest build until we get our hands on the update. Also, there is no word out there for the OTAs, which we think will only be pushed once the factory images are uploaded completely.
For developers or compiles, you can enter the following commands in your machine to start the sync:
repo init -u -b android-5.0.1_r1
repo sync

Update: Seems like OTAs are rolling out too, and not just for the Nexus series, OTAs for the HTC One M7 GPE and M8 GPE have been sighted. Hold on, we’re gonna soon post an article on how to flash the OTA update manually.
Update 2: So, we don’t have to wait any longer to find out what is new in the latest 5.0.1 Lollipop builds. We have got the changelog, which has been posted officially here, with every specific commit and the repo to which it is carried on. It mentions changes from LRX21V (5.0.0_r7) to LRX22C (5.0.1_r1).
