Apple switches iphone 14 camera provider Amid quality manage problems

Apple has apparently changed the provider of some iphone 14 rear cameras amid issues over quality.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo states that Apple has moved around 10 million camera part orders from Genius, to Largan, as a result of the problems.

Kuo states that the issue associates with the rear lenses of the iphone 14, with the analyst taking to Twitter to state that his “latest survey indicates one of Genius’s iphone 14 rear lenses likely experienced from coating-crack quality issues.”

The report goes on to state that while Apple has had to take action to ensure that quality is maintained on the completed iphone 14 models, it isn’t believed that the change will impact the overall availability of the gadgets when they go on sale later this year.

Kuo believes that the “impact on iphone 14 shipments can almost be ignored because Largan can fill the supply gap well.”

Apple is expected to announce four new iphone 14 designs later this year, likely in or around September. The two pro designs are expected to sport new 48-megapixel cameras while they are also believed to be the only designs getting a new A16 chip. The basic iphone 14 and iphone 14 Max are instead more likely to utilize the same A15 Bionic that is already powering the iphone 13 lineup in addition to the most recent iphone SE.
