SIMPLE MIDI THRU BOX

[Aris] has rather a few MIDI gadgets that only have in as well as out ports. To chain together several devices, the MIDI slaves should have a “thru” port. instead of daisy chaining, a much better service is to develop a thru box to split the signal from the master. [Aris]’s thru box style utilizes an optocoupler on the input, which linked to 74HC14 hex inverting Schmitt trigger. The schematic shows three outputs, however there’s space for adding two more. A helpful bit of set for only a two hour job.
